Nothing much in my area, just a lota hope. 2 Elders been speaking about something big happening in October, everyone just kinda laughs, not believing it.

How much meaning are the rank and file putting on October 2014?
by JimmyPage init's definitely on their minds.
i attended a funeral recently and a jw told me that the person who died almost made it to the 100 year anniversary of the birth of the kingdom.. curious what comments like this you've heard in your area?.
(and can't wait for november!).

Elders pretty much do whatever they want!
by toto555 ini've seen elders over the years openly flaunt "the rules", butt-kiss (the co especially), show favoritism and appoint brothers they like and not appoint brothers that should of been appointed for some trivial reason.
many lord their "power" over the friends in blatant violation of scriptures and watchowers that specifically say that they shouldn't lord themselves over the flock.
they pretty much do what they want!

This is so true. When I changed congregations after my deletion, the brothers put some negative information about me that was never mentioned to me and I called the CO about it and he said;"I have no control what the BOE puts in a letter".

I personally liked his wife. I remember they were late for the a meeting and the first words out of her mouth were "I need a Drink".

Jaime Rundquist? He served us around the year 2000. Got his wife pregnant, left the work, she has a child, then leaves him, now she is DF.

just what am I supposed to believe now??
by purrpurr inwhile i'm glad i found this site, it has also crumbled to bits everything i've believed in my whole life.
i feel like the certainty, magic and wonder has gone out of my life.
this has left a huge hole in my soul.

I am still going through the same dilema after some 2 years now.
My problem after 30 active years and literally building upon hundreds of friendships, makes this transition really hard. Reading all the experiences on this site, especially those that have served at Bethel and as Elders has helped alot. There is still now that empty void of what now! Is there a God and Jesus that really care? If so, why the continued suffering in the world? I need no more convincing that the world is in bad shape.
Where is our promised relief???

HAS ANYONE SEEN.......
by DATA-DOG ina super bat-shit crazy invitation to pioneer in august??
i stumbled upon something the other day, but i have been hesitant to post it.
i am afraid that it could be a local thing and thereby traced back to me.

Oh yea here in my area too. They set a goal for 80% of the congregation to participate in some kind of Pioneering for August. All the Elders after last week's meetings were handing out Aux applications. Then they announced we are at 68%, still time to sign up and "we are happy to say all the Elders and their wives have signed up".
2 months ago they asked all the regular pioneer to save as much of their hours as possible for August(gennerally, August is vacation time for pioneers because they usually have their yearly time in by then).

Not willing to meet with Elders? DF?
by thedepressedsoul inif a person says that they are not willing to meet with the elders or does not meet with them, will that get them df'ed?
there is a rumor about a person who has left the truth (went inactive) about being imoral.
they do not have the 2 person witness so they can't take actions because of this.

Our BOE has DF people without them showing up for the JC meeting. We would get 2 Elders on the phone or visit them in person and state that 2 witnesses have made an accusation against and that if you fail to show up for the Hearing, a descison would be made (Your DF'd).

I asked the same question in an earlier post!
